Marko Orošnjak, a native of Ruma, finished his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. He began his academic career as a Teaching Associate at the Department Industrial Engineering and Management at the Chair of Quality, Efficiency, and Logistics in 2015 while pursuing his Master's degree in Industrial Engineering. He does not teach courses only on Industrial Engineering, but also in Mechatronics, Information Systems Engineering, and Engineering Management modules. After earning a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering he enrolled at the PhD programme in Industrial Engineering/Engineering Management at the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad.
In December 2022, after successfully defending his dissertation, he earned his doctorate in Industrial Engineering/Engineering Management. His dissertation titled "The Concept of Functional-Productiveness for Reliability Modeling in Energy-Based Maintenance Domain" with international committee members Dr. Sandra Ramos (Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto, Porto, Portugal) and Dr. John K. Duchowski (HYDAC FluidCareCenter GmbH) was defend. In addition to writing two laboratory manuals in the area of Industrial Engineering, he has participated in three research projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia throughout his doctoral studies and published more than 20 conference papers and 10 articles in international journals.
His professional experience includes working as a teacher for courses on Processes and Means of Work, Tribology and Lubrication, Automation of Work Processes 1 (hydraulic control), Technological System Components (hydraulic control), Quality Management Systems, Methods and Techniques for Quality Improvement, and Measurement and Control Technologies for Products. The Ruma Municipality Award for Best Students in 2013–2014, as well as scholarship from FESTO for the DAAAM Doctoral School (2016) and FESTO Young Scientist Award (2019), have all been given to him. At the "Engineers of the Future 2018" event in Ulyanovsk, Russia, hosted by Rostek and the Russian Engineering Chamber, he spoke on behalf of the University of Novi Sad.
