Introduction to basic terms and methods of designing in the area of automation in thermal process.
Acquiring basic and application knowledge in the area of automation of industrial processes.
Basic terms and principles of automatic control. Types of systems response. ON/OFF and PID control. Selection and tuning of parameters on industrial control devices. Characteristics, purpose and groups of sensors. Characteristics, purpose and groups of actuators. Basic structure of PLC hardware. A/D and D/A conversion. Standard PLC programming languages and concepts. Examples of programs. Basic tasks and data processing in SCADA systems. Integration of communication and geo-information technologies in automation.
Forms of teaching: lectures, exercises on computers and in laboratory, consultations. Knowledge evaluation: practical part – mentored and individual work on 4 obligatory tasks; theoretical part – oral exam, according to the list of questions.
