Continuous time convolution. Basic discrete time signals. Modification of the independent time variable n in discrete signals. Discrete time convolution. Characteristics of continuous systems. Linear Time Invariant Systems (LTI). Continuous LTI systems. Characteristics of discrete systems. Discrete LTI systems. Signal analysis in frequency domain. Fourier series representation of periodic signals. Continuous- time Fourier transform. Fundamentals of digital image processing. 2D signals and systems. Properties of light and human visual system. Methods for improving image quality in spatial and frequency domain.
