Introduction to the basic methods of presenting and processing multimedia signals, as well as modern multimedia communication technologies that provide high quality of the delivered multimedia signal. The aim is to familiarize with the application of multimedia applications in the field of social networks, virtual reality, the IoT concept, in a smart environment, in conditions of interaction with the possibilities of application in the postal traffic and all other modes of transport.
Knowledge of the basic approaches to processing multimedia signals, the method of compression of multimedia signals and basic techniques of objective and subjective evaluation of the quality of multimedia signals in communication networks and multimedia applications and devices. Getting to know about the problems of transmitting such signals and how to solve them. Additional outcomes the acquisition of the skills of designing multimedia systems, professional knowledge and skills in selection, analysis and automatic control of multimedia systems, as well as the possibilities of their application.
Multimedia communications: models, user and network requirements, multimedia terminals. Formation and presentation of audio and video signals. Visual and acoustic perception of video and audio signals. Audio-visual integration. Multimedia signal processing: analysis, interpolation, extraction of characteristic features, adaptive filtering, estimation and quality improvement, audio and video encoding techniques, voice surveying, voice, audio and video streaming, multimedia processors. Distributed multimedia systems and their applications: interactive TV, video on demand, hypermedial applications. Multimedia communication standards. Networking of multimedia communication systems. Networks with a universal multimedia approach. Determining the quality of service in multimedia communications based on parameters of portable multimedia stream and decoded information in ultimate multimedia applications and devices. Multimedia in virtual reality, interactive social networks, smart systems, IoT concept. Application of multimedia signals in postal traffic and other modes of transport.
