Professional career: Ms. Danka Labus Zlatanovic holds a full-time faculty position as a Teaching Assistant since March 2012 at the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad in Serbia. She has experience of teaching Bachelor’s and Master’s students on various courses from Materials and Joining Technologies. She is affiliated to the Chair of Materials and Joining Technologies where she was also appointed as the Technical Secretary in November 2019 to perform all technical tasks related to administration of the Chair. She is actively involved in a national project on “Design, development and implementation of the new generation of ADI materials - TR34015”. She began her PhD studies in 2012 on the topic “Friction stir spot welding of ultrathin sheets made of aluminium – magnesium alloy” under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Sebastian Balos. She finally submitted her PhD thesis in March 2020 and is expecting completion by the end of August 2020.
Professional affiliations: She is a member of two professional Societies: European Platform of Women Scientist (EPWS) and European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (EUSPEN) as well as one alumni club: Klub der ehemaligen Stipendiaten des DAAD und der Alexander von Humboldt- Stiftung an der Universität in Novi Sad.
Research mobility: She has always been active in research networking and since PhD, she started to gain experience of working in different labs across Europe. She secured various scholarship/grants to be able to become a visiting researcher at various organisations. It started by securing a DAAD scholarship from June 2018 that allowed her to work with Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Jean Pierre Bergmann for 6 months at University of Ilmenau in Germany. Thereafter, in April 2019, she received the grant of Short-term Scientific Mission (STSM) from the COST action CA15102 for conducting research work with Dr Saurav Goel at Cranfield University, UK. In June 2019 she obtained a small mobility grant from the Technical University of Liberec in the Czech Republic for working on SEM equipped with EBSD system with Prof. Dr Pavel Hanus. In December 2019 she secured the prestigious Henry Royce Institute PhD access scheme for postgraduate students to access TEM facilities at Cambridge University, UK. Also, in December 2019 she secured a second STSM to visit London South Bank University, UK, Bruker at Coventry, UK, and PVA TePla Analytical Systems GmbH in Westhausen, Germany to learn Frequency-Modulated Kelvin Probe Force Microscope and Scanning Acoustic Microscope, respectively.
