14.12.2017. - 21:12
Description: The project main objective is preparation and promotion of the Danube-Black Sea region as the gateway for sustainable and environmentally friendly freight transport from Central Europe to the Black Sea, Caspian region and the Far East. Providing support to strategical, economical, logistical and infrastructural linking of Danube and Black Sea ports. Particularly, the project aims to promote better interoperability between maritime and inland waterway as well as with their hinterland, to ensure greater attractiveness of water transport in the Danube-Black Sea region and to create preconditions for the short and medium term public private partnership for the investments in intermodal infrastructure. Together with the introduction of new intermodal services, this will ensure attracting new cargo flows to waterways.

Specific objectives of the project are:
• Identification of common potential cargo markets and creation of common vision 2040 for attracting the targeted cargo flows for the Danube-Black Sea gateway region with precise roadmap on how to achieve the vision;
• Creating preconditions for joint public private investments in intermodal infrastructure development through targeted infrastructural feasibility studies; Ensuring development of ports as tri-modal transport hubs with new intermodal transport supporting services;
• Ensuring long-lasting cooperation of all key actors within a cooperation platform with a jointly developed Cooperation Strategy that will ensure sustainability of the taken actions through know-how transfer, trainings and monitoring of the infrastructural projects realization.
